Every print starts as blank paper. Scroll slowly — these develop under the safelight, the way they used to.
Favorite frames, filed as contact sheets — one collection at a time. Not everything lives on a roll: polaroids don't, medium format barely does, and some of these are digital. Most of it is film — that's the love. But a good frame is a good frame, whatever caught it.
I take photos of the things and people I love, and this is where I keep them.
I shoot film first — one frame at a time, no do-overs, no delete button. There's something about winding on, holding your breath, and trusting the light that a screen can never give you. Slide film and instant film especially: a photograph you can hold doesn't need to be edited to be perfect. It just is.
From film to digital is the other half of the name — every frame I love gets scanned and kept, so the moment outlives the negative. Think of this site as my shoebox of prints, left open on the table. Have a look around.
The other half of the love affair is the cameras themselves, vintage mechanical ones especially. I restore them, shoot them, and keep them clicking long past their warranty. And behind the scenes, this is where our family's photo archive lives on — digitized frame by frame, so the old prints never fade out of the story.
